RUF’s CTR3 marked a decisive departure from the company’s Porsche-based creations, pairing familiar design cues with a purpose-built platform developed alongside Multimatic and a rear-mid-engine layout. This 2009 example is one of an estimated 31 produced since 2008 and is finished in Chroma Flash Hologram Matte, a distinctive color that shifts dramatically with the surrounding light. Sportrot leather fills the cabin, complemented by Stone Grey carpeting, Grey Alcantara trim, leather-wrapped carbon fiber seats, and RUF-specific instrumentation and controls. Additional equipment includes a hydraulically adjustable front axle, tire-pressure monitoring, an extended navigation system, a telephone module, and a six-disc CD changer.
Its Porsche-derived 3.8-liter flat-six is equipped with twin KKK turbochargers and produces 682 horsepower, delivered to the rear wheels through a RUF-programmed six-speed sequential manual transaxle. Carbon ceramic brakes, 997-sourced front suspension components, and a RUF-engineered multi-link rear suspension support the CTR3’s focused chassis and near 3,000-pound curb weight. Now showing just over 1,900 miles, this remarkably scarce and carefully specified CTR3 represents RUF at its most ambitious, offering a driving experience and visual presence that few modern performance cars can replicate.
